Janko Nilovic - Mornings

Okay, so we’re ironing out a few kinks in our day to day process here, but I’ve been assured by the consultant we’ve hired that ‘at the end of the day, we will be left with a scalable and repeatable framework for content management moving forward’. I’m not sure what that means (somebody’s getting fired?) but he had a hip holster for his smartweb ultraphone so I assume he knows what he’s talking about. He’s like the sheriff of the internet!

The subject of morning is covered a lot in music. Morning is often portrayed as a triumphant time, a shimmering rebirth, an exciting chance for one to begin life anew. The insufferable pricks furthering this myth of glimmering, gossamer mornings have clearly never enjoyed the physical and psychological camel clutch that is a hangover, perhaps because booze was a no-no at band camp. One such peppy shitbag is Yugoslavia’s Janko Nilovic, library musician extraordinaire, successful poet in his own right, and the kind of guy who would ask you how your weekend was before you’ve had your first coffee. How about we make a deal where when my eyes are open all the way and I got it together to shave my face, we talk. Otherwise we honour each other’s existence in silent reverence and don’t make any sudden moves. ‘Mornings’ comes from Janko’s 1974 album ‘Chorus’, on France’s heavyweight MP2000 library label.
